HOW TO GET THERE
IF TRAVELLING FROM THE WREXHAM DIRECTION ALONG THE A 483 THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY BECOMES A SINGLE CARRIAGEWAY, SIGNPOSTED TOWARDS OSWESTRY, FOLLOW THIS ROAD UNTIL YOU COME TO THE FIRST ROUNDABOUT WHERE YOU TAKE THE THIRD EXIT, TRAVEL DOWNHILL UNTIL YOU COME TO THE MINI ROUNDABOUT, TAKE THE FIRST EXIT, TRAVEL THROUGH CHIRK VILLAGE UNTIL YOU COME TO WHERE THE ROAD SURFACE HAS BEEN BRICKED, ALONG THE BRICKED AREA UNTIL AT THE VERY END, JUST PAST THE 'HSBC BANK' AND ON THE RIGHT, ON THE BEND, TAKE THE B4500 ROAD, ACROSS THE FIRST MINI ROUNDABOUT, AT THE SECOND MINI ROUNDABOUT TAKE THE FIRST EXIT ON THE LEFT, FOLLOW THE ROAD OUT OF THE VILLAGE TOWARDS GLYNCEIRIOG FOR APPROX 1 MILE, CHIRK FISHERY IS ON THE LEFT.

Dani Morrison the 'Website Genius' spent a couple of hours at Chirk today, practicing the casting with a new Hardy Zenith 9' 5#. A Dry Olive parachute fly resulted in two very nice and lively rainbows and the rod handled them very well. Great fishing for November, fish off the top. Here are some Pics, well done Dani !

When Jim Pugh opened up his Birthday Card today he had no idea that his wife had arranged a 'Fly Casting and Fishing Lesson' (Gift Voucher) for him. He did not have to wait long, for, we met at Chirk Fishery at 12noon for a four hour stint. He mastered the Roll and Overhead casts with a shoot of line and then went on to catch a couple of very nice Rainbow's, loosing another and missing a few takes on a Dry Fly. Here is his first trout.

Paul Heeney enjoyed an afternoon at Chirk Fishery today with the Rainbow's attacking a Cul-de-Canon here is one of them.

A great day was had by all who attended the 'Open Day' at Chirk Fishery yesterday, with casting problems aired, entomology study, flytying ,and a cracking lunch prior to actual fishing. Here, a happy client Philip Jones into one of a number of trout he caught on a 'Cul-de-Canon' tied by Gwilym Hughes.

WELL JUST BRILLIANT !!!
Mike Lade who lost his hand and part of his right arm in a horrific accident in the mid 70's wanted to try his 'remaining' hand at Flyfishing and spent 4 hours at Chirk fishery today. Roll Cast / Overhead Cast and actual fishing. He managed this one, his first fly caught a 'Tiger Trout' which I assisted him with.
Then he went on to hook and land this 'Brook Trout' by himself, unhooked and released it !! Very well done Mike.

Rocco Hadland spent four hours at Chirk Fishery today, enjoying every moment of it, on the roll and overhead casts, including some fishing, his first experience of the 'Cul-de-Canon' dry left him in no doubt about the excellence of the fly. Four banked and a couple lost. Here is the his first fly caught trout.

Rebecca Jones spent two hours at Chirk fishery today and caught a nice Rainbow on a Dry aphid.

Lisa and Andy Mitchell enjoyed their outing at Chirk Fishery today catching a few trout on Dry Fly and Beetle patterns also overcoming the rudiments of the roll and overhead cast.Well done to both.

A difficult days fishing , but, enjoyable and a first for Judith, she actually caught three and lost one also, well done Judith, for a first timer you were very good.

JANE HARDY spent 4 hours at Chirk today and mastered the Roll and Overhead casts, then went on to catch five trout on a small dry and also a nymph infront of a dry, well done Jane!, here is a pic for you.

GORDON DAVIES spent the day at Chirk yesterday ending up masterting the double haul and casting efficenty to 25 yards. He had some very nice trout also on small dry flies. Here is one of them
